The Gemäldegalerie (Paintings Gallery) in Berlin is one of the most important art museums in the world. It has around 1,300 paintings on permanent display, including works of astonishing quality. The museum covers European Old Masters from the early Renaissance to the classical (ca. 13th to 18th centuries).

Ines Kouidis was born in 1963 and studied painting and design in the Free Academy of Art in her birthplace, where she also works and lives until today, Berlin. She is a paper collage artist, inspired by famous actors, musicians and fashion icons. Her concept involves appropriating old newspapers, magazine front pages and posters to create fascinating new characters.
